Ugh.

Most of our paperwork is now in, which is fantastic.

However.

I need a letter from my neurologist for our home study, to state that I'm fit to adopt, despite my seizure disorder. I see my neuro every six months, and have not had a seizure while on my meds since high school (had one off meds, over a dozen years ago). I figured getting a letter was a no-brainer.

We planned to have everything finished up for our home study by the time of the home visit, May 2, so the study would be done by the end of May. However, the doctor wants me to come in to discuss this - and can't see me until MAY 29!

Ugh! I am so frustrated for you. It's almost an insult too, since nobody would think twice about "allowing" you to have kids the traditional way. Hang in there; I'm sure things will work out in time.

Thanks. I'm committed to haunting their office daily (by phone), in the hopes of a cancellation...or that they get so sick of me, they squeeze me in earlier.

Mind you, if we were growing our family the "traditional" way, I'd fully expect to have to meet with my neurologist monthy, if not more often, to monitor my med levels, etc. Given my history, I didn't think getting a letter would be a big deal - it was very much a pothole in our road to parenthood that I didn't see coming.

Yes, but that would be something you would do as a responsible mother. It wouldn't be a pre-requisite for the project!

You brain is just as normal as mine.

Sorry, that didn't help, did it?

I don't think I'll share that with our caseworker, Charles.
