I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who's following our story here at the blog. It means a lot to me that people take the time to check in. Adoption isn't like pregnancy - there are no obvious physical signs that I'm expecting, so people don't ask my husband and me, "Oh, when are you due?" or "Do you know what you're having?" or "Do you have names picked out?" or the million and one other questions that expectant parents get asked. However, we are expecting, and we're just as excited about it as any other parents-to-be.
(My answers to the above? "I don't know," "A baby," and "Yes, we do!")

It doesn't matter how the baby is sent to you, rather that you just get your little angel :-)
So, this point is like after the two trimesters.....safe to begin asking all of those questions.....so, what names do you have planned? When you find out the sweetie pie destined for you two are you going to share its gender here or will we all have to wait???? Have you begun purchasing Boston Red Socks clothing for him/her yet?
Just think......out there is a beautiful baby, growing, who will find that he/she is one of the luckiest babies in the world because he/she will have Martha and Chuck as parents. What a wonderful journey he/she will have with the two of you to hold his/her hands.

I like your journey better than the more conventional kind. I think you are more dedicated to your goal and not once have I heard you whine about how your feet are all swollen.
Martha, your path to expectant mom is every bit as exciting as if you were carrying the baby yourself. And you will be doing plenty of carrying soon enough.
And you won't need an epidural.
I am so thrilled that everything is progressing so well for you both! I think I have to start knitting some booties!
