Perfect.

The color I chose, Benjamin Moore's "Patriotic White," is exactly what I'd pictured in my head. I actually got all teary when I first saw it all painted. Here it is; this is only the first coat.

Nursery

Second coat will probably go on tomorrow.

Every home is special just knowing that "This is the home we will bring a family member home to live with us" whether it be a dog, a baby, a child, a parent....

I can understand getting teary-eyed :)

I keep wondering what makes this white patriotic- paint colors have the strangest names, and being me, I can still tell you the names of paints I used years ago.

Tuscan Pink, Twelfth Night, Portal Grey, Eaglet Beige and Rum Custard (it looked like banana pudding!)

I am guessing the addition of some blue to it made it "patriotic" in someone's eyes - that's my best guess.

Not to get all "Serendipity" on you, but the very name of it was a sign to me. July 4 was the big holiday in my family, and Grampa Clyde and Great-Aunt Sarah were patriots to the core. They've both been very much on my mind the past couple of weeks, so the paint name just made sense to me.
